About SIDAN Stack

A research-based guide to software for people who build and run things: developers, AI engineers, founders and the teams around them.

What SIDAN Stack is

SIDAN Stack is a software discovery site. It lists AI tools, developer software, APIs, automation platforms and business SaaS, and explains what each one does, who it suits, what it costs and where it falls short. Around the listings sit side-by-side comparisons, buying guides and explainers that help you move from "which tools exist" to "which one fits my situation".

The site is written for an international audience, mainly in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, and prices are shown in the currency the vendor publishes rather than converted.

The problem we work on

Choosing software takes longer than it should. Vendor pages are written to sell, pricing changes without notice, plan limits hide in footnotes, and most "best of" lists do not say how they were made. A buyer ends up with a dozen tabs open and no clear basis for a decision.

We try to shorten that work by doing the reading first: collecting the facts from official sources, recording where each one came from and when we looked, and laying products out so the trade-offs are visible.

Who it is for

  • Developers and engineering teams comparing coding assistants, APIs, hosting, databases and developer tools.
  • Founders and operators choosing automation, analytics, design and business software for a small team.
  • Anyone who wants the plan limits and the real price before signing up for a trial.

How products are researched and categorized

Each product record starts from the vendor's own website, pricing page and documentation. We write the description in our own words, list documented features, integrations and limitations, and record every page we used with the date we checked it. Products are placed in one primary category and, where it helps, secondary ones; the taxonomy is kept small on purpose so that each category page has substance. The full method is on How we research.

Our work is desk research. We do not claim to have tested a product hands-on unless an article says so and documents the test.

How pricing is verified

Every price on the site is a separate record with the amount, the currency code as the vendor shows it, the unit (per user, per seat, per request, per million tokens and so on), the billing period, whether annual billing is required, the plan's limits, the official source and the date we checked it. Only prices verified against an official page are displayed; when we have not verified one, the page says "Check official pricing" and links to the vendor instead of guessing.

We distinguish a free plan from a free trial, a fixed subscription from usage-based billing, and a public price from a custom quote. We never convert currencies and never turn an annual price into a monthly one. Vendors change prices, so each page shows the check date and we treat anything older than about three months as due for another look.

How comparisons are built

Comparisons use the same criteria for every product in the table, draw their pricing row from the verified records above, and explain who each option suits rather than crowning a universal winner. Where a claim matters, the comparison links to its source. If a product's pricing is not verified, the comparison says so rather than filling the gap.

How affiliate relationships work

Some vendors run affiliate programs. When SIDAN Stack has been accepted into one and a link is live, buttons that use it are labelled, the link is disclosed next to the recommendation, and the destination is shown openly. Affiliate status never changes how a product is described, where it appears in a list, or what a comparison concludes; the editorial record and the affiliate record are kept apart on purpose. If no affiliate relationship exists, you simply get the vendor's official link. Read the affiliate disclosure for the full wording.

Advertising, if it is ever shown, is labelled as such, kept separate from editorial content, and switched off by default.

Corrections and outdated information

Prices and features change, and we will sometimes be wrong. Each product and article shows when it was last verified, and our internal review list flags anything that has gone stale. If you see an error, use Suggest a correction and include a link to the official page that shows the correct information; corrections are checked against that source and the page is updated with a new check date.

What we commit to

  • Official sources first, with the date we checked them shown on the page.
  • No invented prices, limits, benchmarks, ratings, reviews or testimonials.
  • Clear labels: verified fact, editorial assessment, research-based, affiliate link.
  • Recommendations that depend on your situation, not a single "best" for everyone.
  • A person approves every article before it is published.
