Overview

Linear is used by product and engineering teams to plan and track software work. Issues belong to teams and can be grouped into cycles (time-boxed iterations) and projects, which roll up into initiatives for higher-level planning. A triage queue collects incoming issues, and Linear Asks converts requests from Slack or email into tracked issues.

The product connects to development tools so that pull requests and errors are linked to issues: GitHub and GitLab automations, Sentry, Datadog and VS Code are listed in the integration directory, alongside Slack, Figma, Zendesk, Intercom and Zapier. An MCP server and agent integrations (for example Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Devin) allow agents to be assigned work, and a public API lets teams build their own integrations.

The Free plan is limited to 2 teams and 250 issues, with 10MB file uploads. Paid plans are priced per user and the pricing page shows yearly billing only; several capabilities such as private teams, guests, Insights, Asks and the Zendesk and Intercom integrations require the Business plan or above, and SAML/SCIM require Enterprise.
